“Radiomanganese PET detects changes in functional beta cell mass in mouse models of diabetes” was published in Diabetes! This a collaboration with Weibo Cai’s group here at UW-Madison. The paper features a sensitive 52-Mn PET imaging method for quantifying functional beta cell mass in models of type 1 diabetes (streptozotocin-treated mice) and type 2 diabetes (ob/ob mice). 51-Mn PET should work well in people! Team science for the win.
